About Me

Before you begin to read I want to say: yes, I am still a student. Yes, I travel as much as possible. YES, both studying and traveling can happen at the same periods in life. I write this blog to help you find out how that is possible!

I have been to 13 European countries so far. Experiencing each culture in an authentic and respective manner is my goal. I travel very frugally, and I try to spend as much money during a weekend abroad as I would during a weekend at home. Thankfully, my position of being an expatriate in Europe allows me to travel throughout the EU with great ease and frugality.

Currently, I live in Bordeaux, France. I am studying French 16 hours per week at L’Université Bordeaux Montaigne! I hope to translate my own English blog into a French one once I reach the level I need to do so.

I am a graduate of Morehead State University, where I attained my bachelor’s of arts in English and creative writing.

I dream of being a professional travel writer and a creative writing professor. I dream of loving God and people the best I can in every moment.

I love to play and appreciate music. I stay very much involved in the music community through my membership in Sigma Alpha Iota. SAI is an international music fraternity for women and has contributed greatly to my life in areas such as my self confidence and leadership skills.

My most recent work experience was at the MSU Call Center, where I got promoted to the position of Senior Supervisor! I love my university and I loved the experience  of raising support for it.

To inspire people to fulfill their dreams is how I can best love God and people. My goal is to inspire through my writing. And though I am beaten down by the crashing, ceaseless waves. My God holds on to me, relentlessly.

    1. WOW!!!!!!! Thank you SO much!!!!!! I honestly didn’t know anyone noticed me and this is just so great! Thank you!!

  1. Hi there. I love your blog, your energy and your enthusiasm. Actually, my book came out in France last week. I don’t know if you’re still in France but perhaps you can come to my book presentation in October. That would be great!!!

    1. Wow!!!! Thank you so much for the kind words, I (unfortunate as it truly is) am not in France currently. However, I’m already working on going back for a full year this time! And I would love to read it!!! In fact, I’m going to check it out right now.

      1. Let me know if you need any help organizing it. You can send me an email. I would be happy to help you.

  2. To become a travel writer is a wonderful idea. There are so many amazing places to see, and many people really appreciate books and articles about countries, or just towns and cities, they want to visit. If I were young again, I’d love to do that.

    1. Thank you so much!!!! I really just want to inspire people to GO!!! It’s never too late to chase your dreams!

      1. I can only agree with you there! Having brought up six children as well as teaching, I did relatively little travel abroad until I retired. I’ve seen a great deal of Britain and a lot of Europe but I still have a lot of the world to see. You seem to have already travelled extensively, although I realise people do travel further afield nowadays than they did when I was younger. I’ll look forward to reading your views and recommendations on places you have been. 😃
